podcasts really...

OK OK OK OK so I just thought I'd share some love on what podcasts i'm listening to at the moment and I'd like some suggestions back on what I should be listening to... everything I mention here you can subscribe to via itunes so I won't bother linking to everything.

The Fabric podcast is all ways really really good, Howie B has just done a two part one, the first part was older stuff that has inspired him and the second part which i am literally listening to RIGHT NOW has some wicked new stuff on, the first track being some crazy re-working of Singing in the Rain which is so dark, worth downloading just for that, and thats the current Fabric podcast, so if you do it today that should be the one you get.

I'm also a big fan of the Erol Alkan podcast, which is less regular but always excellent. The most recent one was Beyond the Wizard Sleeve live.

Durr do a good podcast with lots of the live sets from their night, and also heads up to Ed Banger and Kitsune for good electro mixes seemingly constantly.

I also get the Guardian Music Weekly podcast, and all though I never listen to Radio 2, I guess that it sounds something like that. I don't know. They have good insightful interviews and always good guests, the most recent being Mystery Jets and Andy Burrows. The presenters are pretty bad, it kind of feels like they've just got their columnists to do it (which they probably have) so although they are occasionally witty, it all feels a bit awkward. But I like it.

The thing with listening to podcasts all the time is that you never listen to the radio, so I also get BBC Radio 1 indie weekly and Zane Lowes 5 minute podcast of his hottest records of the week.

IN NON RELATED PODCAST NEWS - 1965 and Domino Records are having a little knees up tonight at Corsica Studios near Elephant and Castle tube... so come along to that yeah?

next thing shes wearing my rolex...

did anyone else hear this on Radio 1?

stuff an tings

So the guy from White Williams was pretty cool, we had a nice chat, you'll be able to see it for the next Oatmeal...

So the new episode of Oatmeal will be online soon, we interviewed loads of people for this one, I personally caught up with Soulja Boy, The Metros, Toddla T, Ipso Facto and a bunch more from Camden Crawl.

Last night was pretty sweet, my sister was up from the Isle of Wight so I took her out on the town... quick DJ set with Tara Rocks (we played Hangin' Tough) at Electricity Showrooms then to this Rockstar Games party at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes where we drank some free cocktails, ate some free waffles, saw the Whip and a bit of Courteeners, saw Dave Berry trying to "hype up" the crowd, and got back home at a reasonable hour! good times.

In other news I just found out today that Circa are going to be sending me a pair of shoes every day for a year. Which is a touch.

Off to Brighton today, going to be there till Sunday covering the Great Escape, so might see you there.

not a weak week

Hello blog. I know it's been a week, that's bad... but it has been a good week.

Wednesday - The Suggestions smashed it in New Cross, make sure you catch them in the summer!

Thursday - wicked day in the sun, new shorts, evening spent at smash and grab...

Friday - Played lots of commercial records that weren't commercial enough for the management at Westbourne Studios (Babylon Zoo - hello)

Saturday + Sunday - Big Weekend, Justice absolutely killed it, not to mention White Lies, Pendulum Live, Black Kids and Vampire Weekend. The BBC were ridiculous and didn't let me me film anything inside. Had to go on a health and safety course 2 weeks ago. never mind. next time. Hung out with mates old and new  in the sun so that was good stuff.

Monday - Santogold album launch at old blue... allll good.

Today - just off to interview White Williams...

its too hot to be inside

I am fully aware this is turning into a Suggestions gig listing blog. I don't care. They are playing at the Amersham Arms in New Cross tomorrow night.  Letters from London are playing and some others.

Also happening at the Amersham Arms at the minute is this Diesel U Music radio project, which is being broadcast live from upstairs, there is loads of good stuff happening on it, if you live in South London you can get it on 87.7fm, from 4pm today Raf and James of 1965 "fame" are manning the decks, so you should be tuning in then! Not sure if there is a site for it anywhere, but I guess there is so search it or something.

I got sent a copy of the Cage the Elephant album and its bloody brilliant. check this out

It's way too hot to be inside doing this. I'll only be posting when its dark or raining from now on. ok?

hope everyone had a nice bank holiday weekend.

Fluo Kids

So Deadly Rhythm did a Fluo Kids night at the Amersham Arms on Friday night. The turnout was hampered by exams and that, but it was a wicked night. Props to Fluo Kids for coming from Paris to do it. Pase Rock was there, Hype it

Tonight Underground Heroes are playing at h20 in Gravesend, so if you're in Kent you'll be there. Keeping it Kent based a little more, you all need to be at The Loft in Maidstone for your Bank Holiday Monday. The Suggestions are playing, its free, and its 14+. Its part of Radio 1's Big Weekend stuff, so come down and have some fun.

Friday 2 May 2008

I'm a Cheeky Scamp, these guys aren't.
